New Publication!

A new publication from the Weaver lab reports the visible-light-driven retro-Diels–Alder reaction from transient trans-cycloalkenes. In the study, “An Efficient Photo-Driven Retro-Diels–Alder Reaction: Dienes on Demand,” authors Shivangi Kharbanda, Pritha Das, Richard P. Johnson, and Weaver demonstrate a mild and efficient photocatalytic strategy for generating semi-stable dienes using visible light. The method enables rapid access to valuable cyclohexenes and unsaturated heterocycles while providing new mechanistic insight into the reactivity of strain-loaded cycloalkenes.
